How to Backup Your BlackBerry Contacts

BlackBerry may not be as popular as Android or the iPhone, but many people are still loyal to this smartphone. BlackBerry users have the possibility of backing up the contacts saved. There are multiple methods to do this and in this article, we will explore the different options available.

Method 1

You can simply take the BlackBerry SIM card that contains all the data for that specific device. The SIM card of one BlackBerry phone can be used on a different phone of the same type. Once you insert the SIM card on the new device, the contacts will be available.

Method 2

You can copy your contacts to a different application using synchronization. It is possible to sync data across multiple devices using specific rules. If you backup your contacts using synchronization, you will be able to share the information you select,between your device and the app that you use. To backup your BlackBerry contacts via syncing, you can use Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, BlackBerry Desktop software and other options.

Method 3

Another option is to copy the contacts from your BlackBerry to another device using Bluetooth. You just need ti enable the Bluetooth function on both phones and once they are paired, you will see an option to Transfer Contacts. In some devices, there are alternative applications that will allow you to transfer your BlackBerry contacts.

Method 4

A very simple solution is to copy the contacts to an external USB drive. All you need to do is to connect the USB that you want to use and make sure that your BlackBerry is connected to the PC. In case the USB devices option is not shown, you can go to My Computer and locate the removable disk drive.

The next step is to connect the phone to the PC with a USB cord. If the BlackBerry software is not automatically launched, you can hit Start and then locate the program on the list. In the Backup and Restore tab, you can select Advanced options. Then go to the contact list, followed by “Back Up”. The next step is to select the location where you want to save the backup. The media card will appear as a removable drive and you should be able to start backing up your contacts.
